Lip + Cheek Tallow Balm

Use as a lip balm, as a balm for cracked hands, as an undereye cream, a thick moisturizer, or to protect your face from extreme cold, wind, or heat. A little goes a long way! Ensure that you store your balm between 18 and 23 degrees Celsius. Storing it at high temperatures can cause it to melt and potentially lose its original consistency.

Ingredients: grass-fed suet tallow, beeswax, avocado oil, simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) oil, grapefruit seed extract

Grass-fed Alberta Suet Tallow: Grass-fed Suet Tallow is another word for purified beef fat. It is used in skincare because it has similar properties to our skin’s natural sebum and is rich in oleic acid. This means that it is highly compatible with absorbing into our skin on a cellular level, making it incredibly hydrating and nourishing. When prepared properly it is also non-greasy.

It is ideal for those on both ends of the skin spectrum: It benefits those with skin conditions like eczema, psoriasis, rashes, burns, scarring, and dry skin, because it restores the skin’s natural barrier to bring it back into balance and harmony. Its balancing properties also make it beneficial for conditions related to oily skin because it helps regulate our sebum to prevent breakouts.

Beeswax: Beeswax is beneficial for the skin because it creates a protective layer over the skin while also acting as a humectant, meaning that it both attracts and locks in moisture. It is used in skincare to lock in the moisturizing and beneficial properties of the product and keep the skin hydrated and nourished over longer periods of time. It is also non cosmogenic meaning that it does not clog pores.

Cold-Pressed Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Oil: This oil is derived from the seeds of the jojoba plant. It is technically not an oil, but a wax ester meaning that it has a similar structure and composition to sebum, making it the perfect ingredient to balance out your skin’s complexion - it protects and moisturizes the skin without clogging your pores or leaving a greasy feeling. In addition, it has low levels of polyunsaturated fats as compared to other oils, meaning that it is more stable and less prone to oxidization, thus making it the ideal addition to our tallow-based product lines that prioritize this type of fat composition.
